About Greyhound

Greyhound's journey started in 1914 when Carl Wickman, a Swedish immigrant, began a small transportation service using a seven-passenger car to carry miners from Hibbing, Minnesota, to the nearby town of Alice. This humble venture evolved into Greyhound Lines, an iconic brand synonymous with affordable and reliable long-distance bus travel in North America.

Today, Greyhound is part of Flix SE, a global travel technology company operating in 40+ countries across four continents. Flix SE acquired Greyhound on October 21, 2021, combining FlixBus’s innovaative technology with Greyhound’s extensive nationwide network and experience. Since July 2022, Flix North America Inc. oversees operations for both Greyhound and FlixBus in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

With the largest coast-to-coast network connecting major cities and rural communities, Greyhound and FlixBus together offer affordable, reliable, and eco-friendly travel options to 1,800+ destinations. In 2023 alone, more than 12 million passengers traveled on our buses.

Focused on enhanced connectivity for travelers, Greyhound also has interline partnerships with several independent bus lines across the United States. These partnerships extend Greyhound's reach to many smaller towns that aren't directly served by its routes. Additionally, Amtrak passengers can take advantage of the Amtrak Thruway service to connect to cities not served by rail, using Greyhound for their bus connections.

For over a century, Greyhound has been a trusted name in North American long-distance travel, and now, with Flix by our side, we're excited to take things even further. We're all about making travel better for our loyal customers and attracting new ones with an experience that’s both fresh and appealing. Our goal? To keep communities connected, while making travel affordable and sustainable for all. Join us on this journey!
